Have you made your menu or sent out your invitations for your Thanksgiving get together yet? I haven’t either, don’t worry, we still have time!
The year after we built our house I invited all of my family to come to Oklahoma to have Thanksgiving at my house!
All of my family live about four and a half hours away, so I wasn’t sure they all would come.
My mom, dad and brother, my aunts and uncles and my grandma all came.
I didn’t want them to bring anything since they had to drive so far, but my grandma brought my husband’s favorite chocolate pie with meringue that was so good!
They got there late Thanksgiving Day morning and we ate lunch, had dessert and then they packed up and went back home that afternoon.
That year as they were pulling out of the driveway it started snowing!
I love going to my mom and dads for Thanksgiving Day because it’s tradition, but having all my family together that year at my house is still one of my favorites!
Sometimes just changing up the location makes a new favorite memory for years to come!
So change up your location because there’s no better time to retreat with loved ones to the beauty of Hochatown. Nestled in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains, this area offers a perfect blend of outdoor adventure and cabin coziness, making it an ideal family getaway for the whole month of November.
For families looking to unplug from the hustle of everyday life, a cabin stay in Hochatown provides the perfect setting to slow down and reconnect. Enjoy chilly mornings spent sipping hot coffee on the deck, afternoons hiking through Beavers Bend State Park, and evenings snuggled up by the fireplace, playing board games or sharing stories with your closest loved ones.
While being outdoors during the day is ideal, a cabin stay comes alive in the evenings. Sending out invitations to your family signals that this is going to be more than just a regular getaway, it’s going to be a special time to reconnect and create lasting memories. A personalized invitation with thoughtful touches like a previous family picture or a handwritten note can set the tone for the trip, letting your loved ones know how meaningful this time together will be. Include an itinerary of the planned activities will help everyone feel prepared and excited. Knowing what’s on the agenda allows family members to pack accordingly, ensuring they have everything they need, whether it’s hiking boots for outdoor adventures or cozy sweaters for cool evenings by the fire.
