I Love This Kind Of Weekend!

I love this kind of weekend! A little Texas history, a little food tour, a little walking it off, and a lot of memory making. A Fun-Filled Texas Weekend: Fort Worth to Dallas Sometimes you just need a quick weekend getaway that’s close enough to drive but full enough to feel like a real adventure.… Continue reading I Love This Kind Of Weekend!

From Ada To Stroud, OklahomaI

Over time, the route has been tweaked to bypass small towns

That old stretch of Highway 99 holds more than just memories,

Spring Break In The 90’s

My spring break my senior year of high school was so exciting! I can still remember so much about that trip, even though it was over 30 years ago! Three of my girlfriends and I were going to Dallas for spring break! You might think, wow, you only went to Dallas? Yes, wow, we got to go to Dallas! We were from a tiny small town in Kansas of about two thousand people. We all played volleyball together for our high school so we had left the county to go play other schools but other than that we really hadn’t left our small town. One of the girl's aunts lived in Dallas and we were going to drive there all by ourselves and stay two nights with her. I literally remember crossing the Red River and seeing the sign saying Welcome To Texas and the big flag with the Texas Star flying!

I Grew Up In A Small Town

Then it was time for some family fun off to the Cedar Creek Golf Course for a few rounds at the driving range. Buckets of balls and lots of laughs. It’s a fantastic stop, even for beginners or teens.

We boarded a chartered bus in Ada, full of laughter and excitement, and made our way to Krebs, Oklahoma, for a delicious meal at the famous Pete’s Place. It… Continue reading Oklahoma Road Trip

Twenty-nine years ago on an August scorching afternoon in Stratford, Oklahoma my husband and I exchanged wedding vows.  We were gathered by seven of our closest friends standing beside us in the church of Christ. The audience was full of my parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins and close family friends that had driven over 5… Continue reading Twenty-nine Years Ago On An August Scorching Afternoon
