Live For The Weekends

But aren’t these summer three day weekends, vacations and holidays the best, even if it is hot!

Can I get a whoot whoot for the 4th of July being on a Friday?

I remember last 4th of July that was on Thursday thinking, yeah next year we will get a three day weekend!  I was already excited a year before knowing that we would have an extra day off on the weekend!

4th of July 2025

Is it just me or do we all just live for the weekends and holidays?  Then I’m upset that I’ve spent so much time wishing time away just waiting on weekends and holidays.

But aren’t these summer three day weekends, vacations and holidays the best, even if it is hot!

The way I complain about it being hot if the thermostat for our air conditioner is set above 73 makes my husband shake his head because I grew up with an attic fan that we turned on at night to keep cool.  My bed had to be right by the opened window and I had to lay as still as possible to try to stay cool enough to sleep.

And July brings the kind of heat where most of us live.

But here in Hochatown, even when the temps hit the high 80s and low 90s, the adventures don’t sweat it and neither do you!

Try cooling off with a kayak ride on Broken Bow Lake or Mountain Fork River, hiking to the waterfall on a shady North Cedar Creek trail, or soaking in a sunset from your cabin deck, July in Hochatown is a hot” getaway in all the right ways. And while the temperature might rise, so does the fun. Here, summer isn’t something to escape, it’s something to look forward to!

If you’re craving a cool adventure with a splash, Hochatown can help you stay cool. I’m going to mention Broken Bow Lake and Mountain Fork River again because summer is the perfect time to get the jet skis out and catch some waves on the lake, go kayaking  lazily drifting beneath the towering pines on the river. For those who prefer to stay cool airborne, zip-lining over Beavers Bend  offers breathtaking views you won’t forget.

And let’s not forget the rugged fun of ATV trails and scenic drives through the Ouachita National Forest breeze in your hair, and not a care in the world what the temperatures are.

If you are like me not wanting to wish your summer days away, Hochatown in July is made for memory making with the whole crew. Families can spend hours laughing their way through the Maze of Hochatown, feeding curious kangaroos and goats at the local petting zoo and safari, or striking up a little friendly competition over mini-golf and go karts. For hands-on fun, gemstone mining brings out the treasure hunter in everyone, and escape rooms challenge the family to team up and think fast. With so many activities packed into one place, it will make your families come back year after year.

The Fourth of July in Hochatown is something special. Families gather around cabin decks to celebrate with grilled burgers and steaks, laughter, and that unmistakable crackle of sparklers in the night. Local spots have outdoor seating and entertainment at several of the restaurants.

Warm sunsets stretch across the treetops while kids run through the pine trees. Hochatown will have fireworks displays that light up the sky throughout the weekend, creating a picture perfect finale to a weekend full of good food, great company, and old-fashioned summer fun.

So whether you’re floating on the lake, roasting marshmallows under the stars, or just catching lightning bugs from the cabin deck, remember, time isn’t just meant to be wished away, it’s meant to be celebrated.

July is your chance to soak up sunshine, make memories, and maybe even slow down enough to remember how blessed we are for the time we have.

Don’t just count down the days, fill them up.  And if you’re doing that in Hochatown this month? Well, you’re doing it right.
