When I Was A Little Kid

When I was a little kid we didn’t go on vacations or travel much. Instead, our family had a pop up camper and we took it to the lake and would stay several weekends throughout the summer

April can be a month of remembrance. A time to reflect on the moments that shape us and the memories that stay with us forever. I remember my parents telling me where they were when they heard JKF had been shot. In Oklahoma, we honor those lost in the OKC bombing, a solemn reminder of how precious life is. I remember I was at my job at the bank standing with other co-workers as we sat and watched the TV in shock. And as Easter arrives, we celebrate hope, renewal, and the gift of family. The stories we carry, the laughter we share, and the simple joys of being together become the threads that weave our family’s history.

Spring Break In The 90’s

My spring break my senior year of high school was so exciting! I can still remember so much about that trip, even though it was over 30 years ago! Three of my girlfriends and I were going to Dallas for spring break! You might think, wow, you only went to Dallas? Yes, wow, we got to go to Dallas! We were from a tiny small town in Kansas of about two thousand people. We all played volleyball together for our high school so we had left the county to go play other schools but other than that we really hadn’t left our small town. One of the girl's aunts lived in Dallas and we were going to drive there all by ourselves and stay two nights with her. I literally remember crossing the Red River and seeing the sign saying Welcome To Texas and the big flag with the Texas Star flying!

I Grew Up In A Small Town

Then it was time for some family fun off to the Cedar Creek Golf Course for a few rounds at the driving range. Buckets of balls and lots of laughs. It’s a fantastic stop, even for beginners or teens.

Oklahoma Road Trip

After a fun-filled ride, we finally arrived at Pete’s Place in Krebs, ready to enjoy a delicious meal together. As we walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home.

This past weekend, I had the absolute joy of taking my widow’s group from church called the Gals That Gather on a special road trip adventure!
